Search Box

There is only one search box for all search terms. Two or more search terms are automatically linked by AND.

Wild Card Search/Truncation

An asterisk (*) used directly before or behind a search term replaces any number of characters: e.g. denkm* generates the results Denkmal, Denkmäler, Denkmalpflege etc. If you only enter an asterisk (*) in the search box (1), put a check mark in front of “faceting” (2) and then click on “search”, all records contained in the database are listed. The results can then be narrowed down as required by choosing keywords (3), see below “Faceting”:

By using the operator faceting not only the results of your search are shown but all subjects/keywords linked to them, according to the categories work status, type of work, system, year of release, person, geographical destination and institute. Of those only the 40 most frequent are listed. The results can be narrowed down by choosing keywords suiting your individual interests. To reverse that confinement, click the ”X” behind the keyword. The operator can be turned off by removing the check mark.

Narrowing Results on Country / City / Institute

In order to successively choose a county (1), a city (2) or an institute (3), that has already been processed, and to specify your search query use the drop-down boxes “Restrict to Country/City/Institute”. After picking a certain country all available cities are provided, then the institutes in the selected city:

The results are displayed as followed

Edit record

Here the author has the following possibilities to enhance his database entry by editing an online form (no new database entries!):

  • to insert an abstract of his/her research project (max. 2,000 characters, approved languages: German, English, French)
  • to add further keywords (subjects, topography, artist’s names etc.) which are not published but searchable in the database ARTtheses
  • to insert web links concerning the research project (e.g. publication, reviews, editor etc.)
  • to convey adjustments by using the correction box of the record

The form is then sent to the editorial team of the KUNSTCHRONIK, there the entries are surveyed and afterwards activated.
