Vita
Itay Sapir is Professor of art history, and currently department chair, at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), Canada. Itay's numerous publications discuss sixteenth- and seventeenth-century European art, in particular from Italy, and the connections between painting on the one hand and philosophy, science and politics on the other. During his first sabbatical year, 2018-2019, Itay was a guest researcher at the Freie Universität, Berlin, supported by a Humboldt Foundation Fellowship for Experienced Researchers. It is as a returning Humboldtianer that he is now spending a month at the ZI in Munich.
